World Record Paddleboard Attempt

2020 has been a downright weird year but we are finally able to share some very exciting news. Back in August our Producer Elspeth was invited by a friend to film a world record attempt. This wasn’t a job, and the filming was actually for evidence for the Guinness Book of Records but it was such a beautiful and exciting day we edited a short version.

James Fletcher World Record Attempt

James was attempting to break the world record for a prone paddle crossing of Loch Ness. He started at Loch End and paddled all the way to Fort Augustus, a distance of around 37Km! He did this and the Great Glen Endurance Challenge to raise money for Cardiac Risk in the Young (link to his fundraising page below). We obviously couldn’t share this until James had received confirmation of his record but we can now tell you he smashed the previous (unofficial) record by over an hour and is now an entrant in the Guinness Book of World Records, completing the crossing in 4 hours 33 minutes and 1 second.

The happy chappy finally receives his certificate, AND he did also complete the Great Glen Challenge. In total James has completed over 500Km of paddleboard this year alone!!! Well done James.
